Up and running in 6 steps

Step 1 of 6

Seat the washer

Make sure the rubber washer is seated inside the female connector — and inside any accessory that threads on. That's what gives you a leak-free seal.

Step 2 of 6

Connect to the faucet

Hand-tighten the female end onto your spigot. Snug is plenty — the solid brass seals tight with no wrench needed.

Step 3 of 6

Close the on/off valve

If your hose has an on/off valve — that's the Ultralight and Ultralight Flow — set it to OFF before you turn the water on. The Stainless hose has no valve, so skip ahead.

Step 4 of 6

Fill the hose

Turn on the faucet and let the hose fill and pressurize completely before you do anything else.

Step 5 of 6

Attach your nozzle

Thread your spray nozzle or accessory onto the male end. Check its washer is seated too.

Step 6 of 6

Ready to use

Open the valve (or simply your nozzle) — your Titan is pressurized and ready to go. That's it.

The basics · every model

Four habits, longer life

These apply to every Titan — Stainless, Ultralight and Ultralight Flow alike.

Do

Drain after each use

Empty the water out when you're done. It keeps the hose light, tidy and ready for next time.

Do

Store on a reel or holder

Hang it on a reel or hose holder, or coil it neatly into a garden pot when you're done.

Do

Bring it in for winter

It works in any weather, but storing it indoors over winter when it's not in use gets you the most life out of it.

Don't

Store it pressurized

Never leave the hose pressurized while it's on a reel, holder, or in a pot — drain it first, every time.

Tailored tips

Care by model

Same simple routine — with a couple of pointers specific to your hose.

Coils light & easy

The lightest hoses we make — easy to coil one-handed and tuck into a holder, reel or garden pot.

Smooth holders are best

Keep the woven hose on a smooth reel, holder or in a pot so it coils cleanly and stays tidy.

Skip wire baskets

Open wire baskets can catch the braided weave — a holder, reel or pot keeps it looking new.

Same easy routine

Drain after use, then store it on a reel, holder or in a pot — exactly like the rest of the lineup.

Route it clear of soft surfaces

The 304 stainless braid is tough — give patio furniture and painted siding a little clearance so it doesn't scuff them.

Built for the elements

Leave it out year-round if you like — it shrugs off sun and weather. Bring it in over winter for maximum life.

Where to keep it

Three tidy ways to store it

On a reel

Wind it onto a hose reel for the cleanest coil and quickest deploy.

On a wall holder

Hang it on a wall-mounted hanger to keep it off the ground and out of the way.

Coiled in a pot

Loop it neatly into a decorative garden pot for a tidy, good-looking spot by the spigot.

One rule: always drain first — never store a pressurized hose on a reel, holder or in a pot.
Quick fixes

Troubleshooting

Most hose hiccups take seconds to sort out.

Almost always the washer. Make sure the rubber washer is seated inside the connector, then hand-tighten. A fresh washer fixes most weeps in seconds.

The Ultralight and Ultralight Flow have an on/off valve; the Stainless hose doesn't. On the valve models, a small amount of removable thread-locking compound on the screw during routine maintenance keeps it secure without making it permanent.

Check that the hose is fully pressurized, the nozzle is open to the right setting, and there are no kinks. Clear any debris from the fittings and the washer screens.

Drain it completely, disconnect it from the spigot, and store it indoors until spring. It can handle the cold, but a dry indoor winter adds years to its life.

Built for any weather

Sun, rain or cold — every Titan can take it. For the longest life, drain it before storing and bring it indoors during winter when it's not in use.
